Concert date: May 16, 2013
Location: Hangaren Subtopia, Alby (Stockholm)

Stockholm hipsters queuing in a field: an odd vision to open the evening. Tonight everything happens in a shed, in Alby outside Stockholm, by a lake – unless it is a bay, you never really know in Sweden. Anyway, the sole remoteness of the thing is part of the hype. Wouldn’t it be just as cool in a similar-sized venue in town? Näää.

Loud beats are pumping from inside of the hangar, so here we go. Bit difficult to make anything out at first, to be honest. Those uncanny instruments, do they actually work? Are they even plugged in? Why has a troop of aerobic dancers turned up? And where (or rather, who) is Karin? Why do we hear one voice when five different people are seemingly singing in a microphone? Let’s see it as a way of remaining elusive: The Knife used to be a masked duo, now they are hiding in the crowd.

Call it what you want, but it is not your average concert. Whether or not it is playback does not really matter. The result is somewhat fascinating. And sure enough, if one came for loud beats and stunning light effects, one certainly got it.
