Brisbane-based quartet, Violent Soho, released a video for their new single Dope Calypso last week.

Fresh off their forthcoming third studio album, Hungry Ghost, Dope Calypso is a black and white montage of the dudes hanging out backstage, recording, getting bevvied, skateboarding, and of course, rocking out. Directed by Timothy O’Keefe, the video is beautifully shot and the candid nature of the footage works perfectly with the raw and punkish quality of Violent Soho’s sound. Despite having to hold down full time jobs during the recording process, the dudes have revealed that a lot of experimentation was involved in the recording process of the new album. If Dope Calypso is any inclination of what is to come, I think it is safe to say that I am not the only one counting down the days til the release of Hungry Ghost.

Hungry Ghost will be released on September 6th through I OH YOU.
