A bearded Lana Del Rey, ice pop penile echoes and roller skates. All this and more is what you can expect from The Griswolds’ new cinematic masterpiece, ‘The Courtship of Summer Preasley’.

A collection of Sydney natives, The Griswolds have made quite the name for themselves with their infectious indie pop stylings and distinctive visual flair. Just under three minutes, The Griswolds’ new video is a short but sweet bout of oddball imagery that will have you doing more than your fair share of double takes. The clip was a three-way concept created between the frontmen Chris Whitehall and Danny Duque-Perez, as well as director Jefferton James. As for the Mana Del Rey, his cameo appearance came about when Dan saw him in his get up on Tumblr, posted it on Facebook and the social networking stars aligned. Turns out the impersonator was based in Melbourne and when Dan asked him to do the video, he was more than happy to don his denim hot pants and flower crown for the camera once more. And thank god, because it is probably the highlight of the clip.

Recently signed by Wind-up Records, The Griswolds are set to kick off the new year by heading into the studio with Tony Hoffer to begin working on their debut album. Given the stellar reviews the boys have received from their most recent singles, including The Courtship of Summer Preasley and Heart of a Lion, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is excited to hear what else they will come up with in the new year.
