It is my pleasure to introduce you to a Latvian indie band Starmetis hailing from a very artsy city called Cēsis.
Since forming in the summer of 2010, the band has slowly moved its way up by winning a contest for new bands, becoming a supporting act for Sean Nicholas Savage, playing a bunch of festivals, and releasing music that has been recorded in their own bedroom. “Lēdija” (Lady) is no exception – it is the first taste of their upcoming album I Love People, which will be released as a limited edition audio cassette by Latvian independent record label SKYR.
The song is a catchy new wave-inspired piece with that quirky Latvian music aesthetic, which continues to prove their abilities to play with electronica and just makes you want to dance.
