This duo has long moved on from their past music projects, creating “weirdo stuff” that their own bands weren’t interested in doing at the time. Evan Sult has cut his hair since and Paige Brubeck has graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago.
After two EP’s and an album, Sleepy Kitty are ready to release the second one, entitled Projection Room, keeping that entire 90’s rock vibes. Using delays and reverbs, Brubeck manages to give a good amount of catchy vocal loops to their first single “Don’t You Start”, adding that grungy sound.
Apart from being a band, they also design and print posters through Sleepy Kitty Arts, as well as making CD’s and vinyls artwork and packaging (they themselves designed the art for their first album, Infinity City), always combining visual and musical elements in all of their work.
The album will be released by Euclid Records on January 14th.
