Hailing from the Australian eastern central coast, Sea Legs have given us a sneak peek into their sophomore album with the release of their latest single ‘Take A Little For Yourself’.

Masters of surf rock and indie-pop, the new single showcases everything there is to love about the quirky quartet. Traditional to their stylings, Take A Little For Yourself is a miscellaneous mix of the infectious wailings of Byron Knight and the catchy Brit pop tones Sea Legs aficionados have grown to love.

Although the track certainly encapsulates Sea Legs’ signature sound, this newbie also ventures down a darker path that may not appear so obvious underneath the layers of gung-ho guitar riffs and buoyant melodies. The lyrics tell of a macabre tale of jealously, adultery and murder; not your usual go-to themes taken from the generic indie-pop handbook.

This new track demonstrates a newfound sonic maturity for the Sea Legs boys and I cannot wait to see what else the new album delivers.

With plans to support Jebediah and Regurgitator on an upcoming Australian tour and polishing off the new album on the books, we ain’t seen nothing yet when it comes to the Sea Legs.
