San Francisco-based duo Painted Palms leaked another track from their upcoming LP, after the successful response to Spinning Signs.

Forever, title track of their debut full-length, is a deep immersion into Beatles-likely sonorities, with an accurate use of interweaving vocal lines and fine percussion arrangements. The starting sound field suddenly turns into a great pop song, full of ascending choirs and reverberated keyboard sounds.

Quite far from the 80s atmospheres the first single revealed, Forever brings the listener into lands made of heavenly chromatic progressions and airy harmonies: after all, it really seems like they’re going for a magical mystery tour.

Even if it’s easy to find out their influences (mostly the Animal Collective’s way of composing), they worked on a peculiar sound, able to mix synths and digital effects with vintage instrumentation. This way the psych pop melodies they borrowed from their timeless heroes perfectly fit their style, avoiding the risk of a mere replica.

Waiting for the LP to be released, we can certainly take note of the great potential the band showed so far.
