Down under has delivered the goods in the form of the undeniably charming girl group, Go Violets. These Brisbane-bound babes are enchanting music-lovers everywhere with their new single and video, “Wanted”.
A hybrid homage to 60s garage rock and 90s bubblegum pop, Wanted showcases the quartet’s knack for elegant harmonies, tight percussion and nostalgic song-writing. Released through Create/Control, the song definitely has a retro vibe about it, with surf-rock inspired guitar melodies acting as a driving force throughout the track.
Unsurprisingly, the video clip for Wanted is just as adorable as the track itself. The clip recreates the story told through the lyrics in which an unwanted ex tries to court the lead singer to no avail. Featuring floral backgrounds, chocolates and, of course, the girls rocking out, this clip is the perfect side-dish to an already captivating track.
I had the pleasure of seeing the Go Violets live on their co-headlined tour with Sures last week and I can assure you that not only are these girls sonically and artistically gifted, but they also have a killer stage presence to boot. What more could you want?
