Froth is an American band, based in LA, that comes directly from the unstoppable californian underground (Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, King Tuff). The sound is really peculiar of the LA garage scene, with the distinct acid effects and the Bigsby-like guitar licks.

The band was started by two friends in El Segundo. Joo Joo Ashwort (guitar & vocals) and Jeff Fribourg (omnichord) developed a specific sound with a clear influence from the neighbor bands. “Lost My Mind”, second track of the album Patterns, is totally drowned into the Californian scene, with strongly sustained guitar chords and lo-fi vocal recording.

Not only a mere replica, but also a personal assimilation of the contemporary garage revival: the organ line is an essential part of the structure, even if based on a simple four-notes melody; the drum section gives a slowing down rhythm using backbeat and offbeat effects.

The track was added to our playlist on August 19.
