Atlanta-based Dog Bite, the brainchild of musician Phil Jones, return with hypnotic new single “Cold Weather”.
After stints as a touring member of Washed Out and producing a steady output of tracks on his own, Jones enlisted the help of bassist Woody Shortridge for Dog Bite’s debut full-length Velvet Changes, released earlier this year. Having now added a drummer and a lead guitarist to the fold, LA EP is the first set of songs made with a full band.
And I absolutely love the first taste of this new creative process. “Cold Weather” is mesmeric, like the sound of raindrops, with its heady blend of drowsy drum loops, reverb-heavy guitars, and hushed voices – all wrapped up in a layer of ambient shoegaze.
LA EP is out on 17 September through Carpark Records. You can follow Dog Bite on Facebook and Twitter.
