There is such thing as music leftovers and Felix White from The Maccabees know how to make them work by inviting a bunch of his friends to play with him.

This past Monday, the guitarist surprised us with the news of his side project, Cosmo. He got together with Jack Peñate, Florence Welch, Jessie Ware, Johnny Bramwell from I am Kloot, Adam Day from The Lyrebirds, Jamie N Commons and his brother Hugo White (also from The Maccabees) to make a truly collaborative EP that overall sounds pretty good. Although, notably, he doesn’t sing in any of the tracks.

With only 1,500 copies and containing 6 tracks, there is one that stands out over the rest, “Midnight”, written and sang by Florence. Her voice fits every chord along with the lyrics it just makes it so catchy.

Long-time friend Jack with Jessie on backing vocals sings the first song made, “Yalla”, accompanied with a video of a charming man having fun flying while his face gets all wobbly.

Being into photography, the artwork of the EP is a picture Felix took himself. Out now, you can get a copy or download it through iTunes.

You can see the rest of the videos that George Belfield and Felix directed on Youtube.
