Aussie band Cloud Control shared another track from the forthcoming album “Dream Cave” last weekend. Their second full-length seems to be influenced by psych-pop and choral structures, as it’s easily identifiable from this brand new single.
Starting with a spiral synth pattern, Scar is a clear reference to the 90s indiepop way of composing. In fact, the use of the double voice sound effect gives the tune an airy and dreamy atmosphere, helping the song to escape the abused full-on pop standards. Throughout the whole song there’s a well-working wall of synths and mixed chorus, giving the sensation of a never ending stream. The rest of the musical textures is a perfect match to the scenario they want to bring out.
Sure, it’s a really enjoyable track, with its catchy harmonies and ascending arpeggios. Waiting for the album to come, it’s nice to drown in this light and captivating single.
