Minneapolis based BNLX released a new single last month and have packaged it with a collection of all of their EPs released over the last few years, as well as all four tracks from their forthcoming 8th EP, due out in 2014.
“Opposites Attract” will be the lead track from their new EP, and it’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from the band and their hook-y, melodic brand of post-punk noise pop. Behind the edginess and distortion of the single is a classic pop song that is so catchy, it’s nearly impossible not to start to sing along, even before you’ve finished listening for the first time. The male/female harmonies blend with the fuzzy guitars and pounding rhythm to deliver a masterful blend of searing, raw energy and pop perfection.
This is really exciting way to package this material. Along with the 14 song Vinyl or CD version of Produit Collecté, which includes the new single, they are also including a download card for all 32 tracks of their EPs, including the yet to be released EP #8. But this is no surprise coming from BNLX. They are the ultimate DIY band; writing, recording, manufacturing, distributing, and marketing all of their material. They are all over social media, and this 32 track package is a brilliant way to introduce even more people to their music. If they can keep up this momentum, we can expect some big things from these guys in the near future.
Follow BNLX on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, MySpace & Soundcloud, and subscribe to their YouTube channel. You can get a taste of the first 7 EPs as well as their debut LP from last year all streaming on Spotify and available for download on iTunes, (although you won’t get the advance download of EP #8 if you get them there). For that, you’ll want to pick up the Vinyl or CD version of the collection along with the 32 track download card on their Bandcamp Page.
