Get ready for a triple audiovisual threat – Blood Orange, Chairlift and Kindness all in one.
On Wednesday Devonté Hynes premiered his new song Chamakay, which features Caroline Polachek of Chairlift as a guest vocalist and Adam Bainbridge a.k.a. Kindness as the director of the accompanying video. It captures Blood Orange’s trip to his mother’s homeland Georgetown in Guyana, where he caught up with his family members, including his 92 year old grandfather, whom he had never met before. What you get in the end is an array of magnificent sceneries, a lot of Mr. Hynes’s signature dancing and a fragile love story told by two very talented singers – a primal feeling in a primal setting. Chamakay is the first single from Blood Orange’s upcoming album Cupid Deluxe and is out now on Domino Records.
