After spending the last twelve months working on some new tunes, the MAZE are ready to release their brand new EP and we are happy to have a sneak peek the day before the big unveiling!

Whilst floating around their Wollongong music scene over the last few years, the MAZE have refined their own unique fusion of indie pop and garage rock. Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Beatles, The Strokes and The Velvet Underground, the MAZE’s style is also driven by an undeniable sense of nostalgia. The EP is a testament to this signature sound and is jam-packed with insanely catchy tunes from the get-go. Breakdown is the perfect way to open the EP, with killer percussion and a honeyed guitar riff pulling you in before the throaty wails of Zach Gervaise even kick in.

A personal favourite off the EP would have to be Come With Me. Written in the wake of a big night out and following some bad luck with a lady friend, the song showcases the MAZE’s knack for clever song-writing and prime pop hooks even in the midst of a particularly bad hangover.

Given that the boys worked on the EP by the sea, whether it was in their home town of Wollongong or at recording studios on the Central Coast and in Coogee beach, it is no wonder why the new tunes embody a distinctly summery vibe. With shakers and surf-rock guitar riffs weaving in and out of tracks such as What Do You Do Kid, the MAZE’s new EP would fit perfectly in any summer playlist.

Although we were lucky enough to have first dibs on the EP, there is no need to fret, you will have your chance to listen when the EP drops here on October 3rd!
