The London-based trio The Oscillation will release their third LP at the end of this month. Based on the tracks they shared recently, an overwhelming tsunami of hypnotic and dark oriented loops is about to come.
All You Want To Be is a shapeless ride through the krautrock influences of the band: the static drums pattern seems to come straight from the 70s underground (Can, Faust, Amon Düül), the narcotic bass line reminds of the contemporary american avant-rock (Liars, Moon Duo, Valet). The track is a flood of swirling guitars, nervous and scattered riffs, spooky sounds in reverse that make the scene like razorblades.
The sound of the band is, as usual, a melting pot of garage reminiscences, post punk atmospheres and fuzzy distortions: everything in the name of an uninterrupted urge to experiment. The space-rock soundscapes lead the way straight into downward loops, giving the idea of a powerful and mellow descent at the same time.
On September 30th The Oscillation will play for a special release party at Lexington, London. If you’re around and huge fan of the kosmische scenario, there’s no excuse to miss them!
