“I’m just a man full of passion, the main ingredient in love and rage.” The opening phrase of Sean Nicholas Savage‘s newest video for the track “She Looks Like You” catches the bittersweetness which is characteristic for his music.
The Canadian-born entertainer is a master of the words and doesn’t shy away from emotions when writing his lyrics. As fall is approaching, my musical focus normally shifts from ecstatic dance beats to more mellow tunes which you can listen to while having dinner with friends, slowly sipping that morning coffee or simply to ease your autumn blues. It almost feels like this is exactly what Savage had in mind while recoding the album “Other Life”, the perfect September soundtrack.
Although Savage is quite unknown here in Europe, he’s already released ten albums and has been the talk of the underground music scene of Montreal for many years. Savage’s style and music ooze of the 90s and his sound feels like a combination of Sade, Pet Shop Boys, Cyndi Lauper and Chris Isaak all at once.
