Watch Christchurch-based T54‘s haunting new video for “Life is Swell” ahead of their debut full-length release, In Brush Park.

Signed to the legendary Flying Nun label – home of The Clean, The Chills, and The Bats – T54 join an esteemed list of New Zealand indie bands, bringing with them their own brand of noisy indie rock. Though perhaps more influenced by grunge and shoegaze, rather than the aforementioned Dunedin Sound greats, “Life is Swell” and B-side “Kill Red” sound slightly more pop-influenced than the trio’s previous releases. I’ve only listened to their mighty mini-album Drone Attacks prior to this latest single, so perhaps the evolution of their sound has been noticeable before. Either way, it bodes well for their upcoming album – yet another release I’m very much looking forward to.

In Brush Park is out on Flying Nun Records in October. Follow T54 on Facebook or Bandcamp.
