Former WU LYF members Joe Manning, Evans Kati and Tom McClung decided to start a brand new project, quite far from the soundscapes of the previous band. Los Porcos is a melting pot of all the funky and disco influences that didn’t find enough space in the ex-group.
With a couple of songs released online, the New York based crew showed a strongly affinity to their so called “yacht rock”. Basically, most of the structure is based on the rhythmic section, focusing on pervasive beating bass lines and danceable drum patterns.
All of this is distinguishable in “Sunshine”: first track of the double A-side 12″ out on September 15. With a strongly flangered guitar phrasing, so typical of the disco house spirit, the tune flows easily and gives the chilly feeling of a summer sunset.
An enjoyable track to listen to, especially during these last weeks of summer. Hit our playlist on August 19.
