Last week was no ordinary one for Sydney quintet The Preatures. Not only did they release their new EP, Is This How You Feel, they also dropped a smokin’ hot clip for their single Manic Baby.
Visually, the clip is an homage to the past; with lycra, PVC and kitschy dance moves dominating the mise en scene and exuding an undeniably 80s feel. However, the use of soft focus also bore some resemblance to the cinematography signature to many 70s music videos. Featuring some extremely sultry dancers and The Preatures themselves looking ultra suave, this video can do no wrong.
Although the video itself gives off a vintage vibe, the actual track embodies a unique and fresh sound. Driven by a heavy bass beat, an infectious melody and the coos of lead songtress, Isabella, Manic Baby is another triumph for these indie darlings.
