San Francisco’s Weekend may have left the comfort of their Bay Area home to find inspiration in the more alien environment of the Brooklyn music scene, but they didn’t leave their fuzzy, layered, post-punk sound behind.
“It’s Alright” is the second single from Jinx, their new album due July 23 via Slumberland. Not as lo-fi as they’ve been in the past, the track is bathed in lush production and has a hypnotic groove that drives the song and pulls you into their dark, noisy world. It’s a promising introduction to their sophomore effort. Catch them on tour in the U.S this summer, with European dates to be announced soon.
